Massage Chairs: Back to Top

Q. How do certain Sanyo Massage Chairs measure stiffness?

A. Place your index finger and thumb onto the Stiffness Detection Sensor. The foot roller and massage heads create stimulation. As a result of this stimulation, the sensor detects changes in sweat, pulse and skin temperature.

Q. Are the massage chairs made of leather?

A. No. Although leather is very durable, it tends to stretch, making it impractical for this usage. Instead, the chair is covered in synthetic Navaho leather. Manufactured and tested to stand up to the rigorous action created by the rollers, this material is far superior to leather for durability.

Q. The programs seem to be incomplete or skip. Why does this happen?

A. If the buttons have been selected too many times, the remote will become confused. Simply unplug the chair from the wall for about 30 seconds. This “reboots” the chair and starts massaging again. If this doesn’t fix the problem, please call our national Service line.

Q. How do I register my products online?

A. Certain products can be registered online through the BACKplus site. All other products must be registered manually using the form included with your product.

Q. If something happens to my chair, what are my options?

A. Contact Redfern Enterprises to determine what is wrong with your chair. If there is a problem that cannot be remedied over the phone, we will direct you to one of many National Service Centers. Please have your contract handy to ensure faster service.

Q. What is the difference between the chairs?

A. The following is a comparison chart:

Manufacturers: Back to Top

SANYO: Japan is world renowned for its electronics. Their products are consistently delivered with the highest standards and strictest quality control.

INTERACTIVE HEALTH: For over twenty years, Interactive Health® has been developing leading edge, personalized massage technology for consumers and professionals. Their chairs are manufactured primarily in China.

Motors: Back to Top

Motors manufactured in Japan operate quietly and are known for their durability. A chair with independent motors concentrates on kneading, rolling, and tapping, and delivers a more powerful massage. Furthermore, a chair with more motors can distribute the workload of a therapeutic massage more evenly. This produces less wear on each motor, resulting in a longer motor lifespan.

Please check the comparison chart under “Motor(s).”

Rollers: Back to Top

A.lthough the number of rollers doesn’t affect massage quality, there are chairs with 16, 12, 10 or 8 rollers. The greater the number of rollers, the smaller their size. However, a single motor cannot move 16 rollers efficiently.

With Sanyo, roller quality, size and type of material will determine massage quality. Only Sanyo rollers curve along the body and form an angle of up to 50 degrees to fit targeted zones, like shoulders and back. Since not all rollers adjust to the curves of your body, one flexible roller makes for a better massage than several inflexible rollers.
